At Jerudong International School, we recognise the importance of a well designed environment in enhancing the overall learning experience.

Our campus is equipped with up-to-date facilities in an inspiring setting. Near to the coast and surrounded by tropical woodland, the impressive school grounds are set on a single site of over 300 acres. The architecture incorporates the best in contemporary design to promote education in a state-of-the-art, beautiful location.

The impressive school grounds are a considerable asset enhancing the overall learning experience.  The spacious and well-equipped faculty buildings are surrounded by colourful landscaping, with a variety of flora and fauna including; Yellow Fishtale, Cane, Bismark, Blue Hesper, Adonidia and Red Palms, Cherry Blossom and Casuarinaceae trees, Moss Roses, Oyster Plants and bougainvillea.

Our extensive outdoor playground facilities include a series of fully-covered climbing frames, swing structures, sandpits and cubby houses. The Junior students also have a purpose built forest school and mud kitchen area which they enjoy using.

The shaded seating areas provide cooler spots and space to interact, socialise and study. Covered walkways ensure that students on the go are adequately protected from the sun and rain.

The light, airy corridors are decorated with art work, photography, instillations and sculptures in addition to highly decorated trophy cabinets.

Our students are encouraged to take pride in their campus and have led various initiatives to beautify and improve their surroundings by making mosaics, designing seating and our Totem Peace Pole. The Eco Garden is another student-led initiative and has been designed and developed by the Eco Committee.

The extensive sporting facilities ensure that regular training and friendly competitive camaraderie are fundamental to the curriculum. The air conditioned gymnasiums and dance studios are a hub of sporting action, with activities ranging from gymnastics to badminton and a variety of ball skills.  The purpose built gymnasium viewing gallery also allows spectators to cheer competitors along and join in on the excitement.

Outside, the extensive size of our campus and high calibre of the facilities help make our sporting grounds world class. The three football and rugby pitches are complete with changing facilities and one with a magnificent seating grand stand. The fields are maintained to the highest standards preventing waterlog or arid conditions. We also have undercover basketball, cricket nets, tennis and netball courts.

Our swimming facilities include a four lane, 50 meter teaching pool, as well as a wading pool, diving blocks and junior pool. It is fully utilised throughout the day and into the co-curricular activity programme. This impressive pool ensures that learning to swim to a high standard is a priority and that our competitive Swimming Squad is one of the highest ranked in the region.

A large Sports Centre with an 8 lane 25 meter swimming pool will open in January 2017. This also has two large air conditioned sports halls and several classrooms also.

Jerudong International School is proud of its extensive and world-class ICT facilities. Our network distributes a rich library of industry-standard educational software and media to over 1200 workstations, in 12 computer suites, staff offices and Boarding House study rooms. This includes a powerful Mac Lab in the Music Faculty for music technology and media production.

A further seven computer suites and an e-Learning Centre came online in the new Senior Academic Centre in September 2012. Access to wireless connections via pods of portable devices makes any classroom an electronic environment.

Each classroom is equipped with a desktop computer, projector and sound facilities. Interactive Whiteboards are distributed mainly for Junior School classrooms, but are also available elsewhere.

An extremely fast Internet connection distributes filtered online materials to all classrooms.

Our administrative network allows teachers to take electronic registers each lesson, effectively track and report on student progress, with access to a wealth of data and information files. Portals are also being developed for parents and students to access relevant personal data, assessment summaries and networked documents.

Students have access to our Virtual Learning Environment (Firefly) which distributes learning resources, as well as online assessments and homework activities, tailored by teachers to meet their needs. The children in the Junior school are equipped to use computational thinking and creativity to create programmes and a range of content. The children are also taught how to be digitally literate - able to use, and express themselves and develop their ideas through, information technology.. Students in the Senior School - Years 7-11 are required to have a full sized iPad in School and Years 12 and 13 students can BYOD (Bring Your Own Device). A secure wireless connection can be accessed by students across the whole campus.

The classroom teachers are well supported by a full time Network Manager and Help Desk team. E-safety is also of principal concern and students and teachers receive training, awareness-raising and monitoring in this area in accordance with our Child Protection Policy.

Three canteens are situated in picturesque and shady undercover central courtyards. The Hornbill Canteen serves the Year 12 and 13 students, the Borneo Pasar Canteen serves Years 7-11 students and the Rainforest Canteen caters for the Junior School students Lunchtimes are abuzz with activity as students eat, socialise and listen to music.

The two caterers, SeriKandi and Graze Starz, cater to a full range of tastes and offer a variety of hot and spicy local favourites to salads, sandwiches, pizza and pies. Vegetarian, western and Asian options are available and all menus are strictly halal. Dishes are prepared using the high quality ingredients and there is an emphasis on healthy eating. Payment for the meals is made using a campus wristband for students from Reception to Year 6 or a campus card for Senior Students in Years 7-13. Parents can add credit to their child's campus wristband / card either online or in cash at the Accounts Office. Parents or students can preview the menu via the parent portal, Firefly, and can also preorder their selection online, using the wristband / card for collection of the items. Special diets can be catered for. Important dietary and allergy information is also stored on the wristband / card so when meals are purchased, the staff will be notified if a child accidentally tries to purchase an item containing an allergen. For boarders, a daily allowance is automatically added to their card for their snacks and lunch. A separate canteen at the Boarding Houses serves the Boarders their breakfast and dinner and meals at the weekend.

The canteens are open throughout the school day until the end of co-curricular activity time to ensure that students are well fed and able to sustain their energy levels.
